Accelerating U.S. Military Drone Dominance
On July 10, 2025, Secretary of Defense Hegseth signed a landmark Department of Defense memorandum that builds upon the Administration’s “Unleashing American Drone Dominance” Executive Order.
In his announcement, Secretary Hegseth described uncrewed systems as “the biggest battlefield innovation in a generation.” The memorandum—available here—outlines critical initiatives to expand the U.S. drone industrial base, promote next-generation uncrewed aerial system (UaX) training, and accelerate deployment of cutting-edge capabilities to the warfighter.
In direct support of these national objectives, Defense Strategies Institute (DSI) is proud to host two timely and mission-critical engagements in Huntsville, AL:
2nd Annual Counter-UAS & Integrated Defense Summit
Date: Sept 3 & 4
Website: cuas.dsigroup.org
This year’s Counter-UAS & Integrated Defense Summit will bring together senior-level leaders from across the DoD, federal agencies, industry, and academia to advance dialogue on countering hostile drone threats. A central theme will be the rapid fielding of integrated protective technologies and the role of American drone manufacturing in enabling scalable, interoperable defense systems.
Sessions will explore kinetic and non-kinetic defeat mechanisms, multi-domain integration, and the evolving C-sUAS strategy to protect critical infrastructure, warfighters, and forward operating bases.
2025 Loitering Munitions Systems Summit
Date: Nov 5 & 6
Website: loiteringmunitions.dsigroup.org
This foundational summit will explore the development, integration, and operational deployment of loitering munitions—systems that bridge the gap between drones and precision-guided munitions. The event will foster discussion on warfighter requirements, lifecycle cost considerations, interoperability, and the technologies driving this critical capability forward.
From acquisition and manufacturing to training and real-world operational feedback, this summit will serve as a strategic touchpoint for the community to align on delivering these systems at speed and scale.
Advancing the Mission – Supporting the Force. At No Cost to Government
Since its founding, DSI has maintained a core commitment to promoting warfighter lethality and readiness. As responsible stewards of public resources, all DSI-hosted engagements are no cost to U.S. government personnel and are designed to foster professional education, training and knowledge sharing across the defense ecosystem.
